FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
New Program Turns Memories into Silver
(Rocky River, OH - Aug. 5, 2011) Drawings, handwriting and fingerprints now convert to Fine Silver (.999), thanks to a new jewelry program unveiled this week at Embellish. The announcement comes as the create-your-own jewelry store celebrates its fifth anniversary in business.
"Gifts of jewelry are sentimental, as they typically mark special occasions. When the recipient realizes the present was created with just her in mind, it's even more appreciated," said Embellish owner Laura Jacobs. "This new program brings customization to an even higher level, and we are thrilled to be able to offer it."
Customers can bring drawings, artwork and even handwriting samples to the shop (or email it to firstname.lastname@example.org) for analysis. Then the staff will digitize the artwork, create a custom mold from it, then apply that mold to Fine Silver in a kiln-firing process.
"Simple is usually best," says Jacobs of the artwork. "If it's too detailed, we may first need to focus on the most enticing parts so it is easily recognizable when shrunk to the size of a quarter."
Unique jewelry created with this program include kid's drawings that become necklaces and bracelets. A graduating high school senior combined her best friend's handwriting onto pendants. The pendants will be given to each friend before they head to college this fall. A dog owner sent a photo of her dog, and through artistic rendering Embellish was able to combine a silhouette of the dog's face with his name on a dog bone-shaped necklace pendant.
"The applications are endless," said Jacobs.
This fall the cost of the customized charm program will start at $100 per charm for art digitization, mold creation and finished product. Through Sept. 1, Embellish is offering the service at $75 per charm for first unique charm, and $40 for each additional duplicate charm. Beads and chain not included.
Embellish is located at 19051 and 19055 Old Lake Road in Rocky River's "Shops of Old River" retail district. The district is in the process of completing a half million dollar "streetscape" that encourages more pedestrian traffic. Completion is on schedule for end of August.
